INTERNATIONAL RECRUITMENT - REGION ZEALAND
International Recruitment – Who are we?
International recruitment has been important to Region Zealand for a long time and we have been doing it actively for over 15 years.
Naturally people have been coming to our region from outside Denmark much longer than that, but it was in 2007, when the current regional structure was created, that Region Zealand decided to create a focused initiative to help specialist doctors find a potential future at one of our medical institutions.
The team, as it currently stands, is made up of six people:
Chief Consultant – Camilla Trane Magnussen
HR Consultant – Kristian Coulthard Flintholm
Language Teacher/Consultant – Annette Voigt Hansen, Tine Olesen, Lars Visnjic Jakobsen and Claus Barfoed.
Alongside the internal team, we have multiple partners that assist in helping us provide the best possible experience for our candidates.
Our goal is to ensure a more holistic recruitment process that not only considers the individual candidate, but also takes into consideration everything that a physical move entails. This includes an increased focus on family dynamics, as it is one of the most important aspects of a successful move to a new country.
So, what does that look like?
We strive to provide as close to a complete solution as possible. For this purpose, we have created a package that includes assistance and solutions to many of the issues we have experienced throughout the years, including:
- Relocation support – Housing, Registration, schools (see more by going to the relocation section).
- Authorisation support and compensation.
- Individual language course for the candidate.
- Partner program – Assistance for partners to find a new career in Denmark.
- Financial support – Moving contribution and interest-free loan for rental deposits.
- General Support – We will try to help with any of your questions to the best of our ability.
As mentioned, our goal is to make the transition as stress-free as possible. We know that there are many little things that can become big stress factors if not addressed. We know this well and it is our goal to remove as many, if not all, of those concerns from your experience.
Watch the video below to see what some of our candidates have to say about the process and the help they received.
What help did you get?

How do I become part of the program?
If you are interested in working in Region Zealand, please send us your information, including a detailed CV and motivation. Both are equally important, as our goal is long term recruitment from people who have considered the implications of moving to a new country. Please include as much information as possible, including, if relevant, a CV from your partner. You can find our email at the bottom of the site.
If you are just curious about the whole process, you are also very welcome to write to us.
After we receive your information, we will present your profile to the heads of departments relevant to your field. If they find your profile interesting, we will set up an online Teams meeting between the department and you, that way both parties can have a more in-depth conversation about whether it could be the right fit.
If it is agreed that your profile is relevant and that you are a good match, we will invite you, and your partner if applicable, for a visit to the department and city where you would want to live. The visit will usually last for 2-4 days and we will pay for travel and accommodations.
During the visit, you will have a day or two at the hospital, where you and the department will get a feel for each other and see if it ultimately is the right fit. You will also have a meeting with us at International Recruitment. This meeting takes about an hour and a half, where we discuss your considerations, motivations, questions and concerns. This will be followed up by what we refer to as a language screening. The language screening is conducted by one of our expert language consultants, with the purpose of evaluating your ability to learn the Danish language and providing an estimate of the timeframe of your language education.
Lastly you will have a meeting with our wonderful relocator June Persson from RelocationZealand. June will take you to lunch and discuss everything related to the actual relocation. She might show you around places to live, schools etc. All in all, she will be your guide through the practical aspects of moving to a new country.
If both parties decide to move forward, we will create a letter of intent and once signed we will start the process of language, relocation and general support, to get you and your family ready for your new life in Denmark.
For more information about language, relocation or compensation, please read the dedicated sections on this site.
